My students need 4 sets of basic, interactive materials for circle time, along with markers.

My Students

Wouldn't you love to have something you can touch and move and see while learning letters, sounds, numbers, colors, and shapes? With these pocket charts my preschool students will be able to and will also be able to interact with them outside of circle time.

My students are an amazing group of students.

They attend a Title I school in Washington, DC that is in one of the toughest neighborhoods in the district. Each of my students has their own special talent that they bring to the classroom where they are learning to be a life long learner. Our school has been considered failing for the last 7 years. It is my hope, with your help, that this group of students can change that.

My Project

I am requesting 3 pocket charts and a circle time tube that will engage my students at circle time. One pocket chart as an overview of what we do every week, a letter/sound, color, shape and number. The chart provides them with a visual aide to help them learn all of those important early skills. The second pocket chart focuses specifically on the letter/sound of the week. With this chart, students will be able to see pictures that begin with that sound, practice writing the letter, as well as hear a poem that emphasizes that letter. The third chart will focus on the number of the week. With this chart students will be to see the number, practice counting the number, see ways to make groups of the number, as well as recognize the number on the clock. With these pocket charts, I will be able to leave them up all day long. Students can revisit them not only at circle time but throughout the day.

Early literacy and math skills set the foundation for an early learner.

It is in their earliest years that we make life long learners out of students and set them up for their later academic lives. Imagine the advantage my students will have with the use of these materials by the time they enter kindergarten. With these materials, it give my students the chance to be reading, writing, adding, and telling time by the time that they enter kindergarten and to be life long learners.
