This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As four year olds, my students are excited about learning. This is their first experience with school and we want to create positive experiences. These little ones love to participate in our lessons. Unfortunately, my students do not have all of the tools needed in the classroom.
These students are excited and energetic.
They are always willing to help others. As their teacher, I want to help them the best I can.
Our class is made up twelve boys and eight girls. Our class size is set at twenty students. We are located in a highest-poverty area. Students are receiving both meals free every day. We are also fortunate enough to receive a fruit and vegetable grant to help provide students with more nutritious options.
My Project
Circle time is a great way for preschoolers to get a sense of community with other kids their age and enhance their social skills and improve their attention span. In our classroom, we start each day with circle time for our children. We believe that starting with circle time helps to introduce the topics and plans for the day.
By having circle time, our preschoolers greet each other and learn awareness of other students.
This kind of interaction helps to enhance the social skills of children their age. They learn that each child is valued as a member of the group.
