These elementary students are among the most diverse in the nation. At our school alone, there are 83 languages and dialects spoken. They live in one of the highest crime areas and in some of the highest poverty levels with 78% of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch in an urban district.
These children are eager to learn and become 21st-century ready leaders to become lifelong learners.
These students could use a variety of materials to assist them in filling the learning gaps of our lowest Title I learners and English Language students along with opportunities to challenge our Gifted and Talented students.
My Project
Please help these students receive a circle of seats for this student developed project for Social and Emotional Learning Circles. Students have decided they need a calming communication center in our room where students can talk about problems and solve them in a small group setting.
These stools will match the need of the students to have a group of six students at a time to discuss the needs and wants.
It will live in our library as dual purpose furniture. When not in use for SEL, students can use them for independent or small group reading or math.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
