My students need Chromebooks in order to learn technology to prepare them for the digital workforce.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
"The most important thing that schools can do is not to use technology in the curriculum more, but to use it more effectively"- John G. Palfrey. This quote explains my classroom and students very well.
At my school, approximately 75% of the students are low income.
Approximately 25% of my students do not have access to computers or the Internet outside of my classroom and they have to rely on any available technology in the school. I want to engage and challenge my students to open their minds to new ideas and concepts through the use of technology and this project will do that.
I teach a diverse group of students, from 9th grade to 12th grade. My students are planning on attending college or starting careers and they need technology and collaboration skills which will allow them to be successful in adulthood. I believe that my students will flourish by challenging them and engaging them through the use of technology.
My goal with this project is to create a STEM classroom which will allow my students to be actively engaged in learning technology while also sparking their interest in their education as a whole.
These Chromebooks will allow them to creatively collaborate with each other and help my students to be more successful in the 21st century, digital world.
My students will use these Chromebooks to create class websites and actively research for information that they can use to upload onto their websites. For example, in the first week of school, my students will use the Chromebooks to create a GIS map with data layers such as climate, food production, and undernourishment and place their completed map on their website. With these Chromebooks, students will be able to complete the activity with me by their side helping them.
