My Students
Our 2nd grade integrated classroom is full of eager and enthusiastic learners! Our diverse learners range widely in academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs. No two student in our class are alike and it is our top priority to meet each child where they are! With such a wide range of learners, our classroom is differentiated so each student can work towards their individual goals.
We use centers-based instruction throughout the day to differentiate our lessons depending on our students' individual goals.
Computers are an integral component in learning centers that are set up based on the individual needs of our students. Right now we have zero technology in our classroom and we truly believe that the integration of computers will help engage our students in more meaningful ways through daily access to educational websites.
My Project
Chromebooks are a wonderful resource that make technology skills and the Internet more accessible. With 3 Chromebooks, our students will have quick and simple access to the online resources right in the classroom. The Chromebooks will help enrich the education of a diverse population of learners in the classroom. We would quickly and easily get access to educational math and language arts websites and other resources like keyboarding skills, research sites, etc.
Access to computers would allow for the children to interact with software that provides practice of the skills each individual is working on.
It allows for project based learning in small groups from which students with various learning needs greatly benefit. Computers in the classroom would not replace children's experience with objects and materials but they will expand the range of tools with which children can seek information, solve problems and learn at their own pace.
