My students need 8 chromebooks to support learning through different mediums and allow students to access course materials electronically. The chromebooks will be used by all four teachers on the biology course team to increase access.

Students arrive at Kenwood through several avenues, including from the local neighborhood, magnet enrollment, and the academic center. A majority of students at Kenwood are from low-income backgrounds and from minority groups.
Kenwood's mission statement is to develop critical readers, writers, and thinkers, who will strive within competitive academic institutions, as well as the global market place.
A vast majority of students attend college after graduating and the college retention rate is high because students are challenged during high school and supported in pursuing higher education. Students are well-rounded as they are involved in academic clubs, sports, music programs, and art programs. There is a healthy sense of community at Kenwood which the students have helped to create.
Having chromebooks will allow our biology team to increase student access to our curriculum. During class time, students will use the chromebooks during stations activities so they can view and listen to biology videos and engage in research-based learning. If students are absent they can visit during office hours to catch up on bellringers and summaries, all of which are on electronically accessible powerpoints that are uploaded to Schoology.
By allowing the entire course team to use the chromebooks, the amount of students who have access to this technology will increase greatly.
It is important that students are able to learn through a variety of different mediums and have easy access to education. Chrombooks would ensure students have such opportunities.
