Help me give my students four new Chromebooks that will allow them to grow behind the classroom walls.
My 5th grade students come from many different backgrounds. Some come from low socioeconomic homes where access to computers is very limited. Some have no computers at all or are not able to get on the Internet. Some of our students qualify for free or reduced price lunch program. Some students have access to computers and iPads and rely on these tools to learn.
My classroom uses a family type atmosphere to promote and foster learning.
We support each other and care about each other. My school is located in a community that supports education. My school is very similar to my classroom. They care and support each other whenever they can. The students in my classroom like to be in charge of their own learning. They like to work together but also independently at times.
My students have a period at the end of the day where they can access the Internet and use a program that is tailored to their individual needs. These Chromebooks will allow more students to have access to this individualized Math and Reading program.
Also, my students will be able to utilize these Chromebooks during our Social Studies class when we have to research many different topics.
My students will be so grateful if this project is funded. They will be so excited to learn that there are people out there that care for them and want to help them.
