My amazing fourth grade students are eager to learn and love technology. Digital natives is a term used to describe today's students. My students are just that and impress me with their abilities. They need computers to learn and grow.
Eighty percent of our student population come from low income homes but work hard regardless.
Their knowledge and determination is a joy to witness. We never let an obstacle stand in our way! We celebrate each other as we learn and grow in our family-like environment.
Having Chromebooks in our classroom will allow students to practice math and science skills. In our school we utilize a program called Study Island. Students are able to learn and review skills with fun game modes. Teachers can post assignments and test to track students' learning progress.
Students have said they prefer this method of learning as it keeps them more engaged.
Students like to challenge themselves with getting blue ribbons for all the skills they master on Study Island. If it motivates my students to learn I am for it.
