Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

At the end of the year, I want my students to say, "This was the best year in math, ever!" My students deserve the best math education I can give them and I desire to be able to provide a mathematical education that will encourage my students to reach for the stars!

Our students come from economically challenged environments.

My students are in a fifth-grade Math and Science classroom at a Title I school in the Washington Heights neighborhood of upper NYC. Ninety-four percent of students receive free or reduced-price lunch, and 30% are English Language Learners. Like most children, my students love having hands-on experiences and I want ALL of my students to be able to have access to their own personal learning needs!

My Project

With these Chromebooks, my students will be able to access the internet on a daily basis to give them a variety of learning. Students will be able to log onto and have access to different math websites such as IXL and Xtra Math, and they will also help support differentiation for my ELL students. These Chromebooks will acts as a bridge from the classroom to home as we will be able to set up Google Classroom, where students will be able to access the classroom materials anywhere!

This project will undoubtedly improve my students' lives by giving them consistent access to technology, which is relatively scarce in our school.

We would LOVE to have endless resources at our fingertips! It is important for students to become digital citizens that will give them more opportunities later in life. Your donation will make a difference in their lives!
