This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
"We need technology in every classroom and in every student and teacher's hand, because it is the pen and paper of our time, and it is the lens through which we experience much of our world." - David Warlick
My students face struggles every day, so my goal is for my students to learn to love learning through the use of technology.
Our school is a Title 1 school located in South Carolina. We have around 600 students and the technology is very limited. I want to prepare my students for their future whether it is to be college or career ready with 21st-century skills.
My Project
The seven Chromebooks will be a way to enhance my students' learning by keeping them more engaged through hands-on, student-centered learning. We will use the Chromebooks daily during our 45 minute reading workshop and our 30 minute math workshop. The workshop time is designed to differentiate instruction and meet each student's needs. It will also be a phenomenal resource for my English Language Learner (ELL) students. They will be able to have books read to them in English as they learn the new language. They will also be able to read books in their native language that we may not have access to at school.
Your donations towards the purchase of Chromebooks will make a tremendous difference in my classroom.
My students will be motivated to learn the love of learning. They will build 21st-century skills that will ultimately prepare them for college and career.
