I teach a wonderful group of kids from Southeastern Kentucky. These kids are very bright and have a lot of potential. They have so much to offer the world and I feel honored to be part of their growth while learning to become successful in life!
In spite of the many challenges that my students face at home, they always come to school ready to work, driven by the opportunity to create a better future for themselves.
I am proud of my students and want to give them every chance for success. They have experienced so much in their young lives, but that only motivates them to work harder to succeed.
100% of my students receive a free lunch. Most of them are from poverty stricken households. For my students, school is their outlet for new and positive experiences. My goal is to not only develop their academic skills, but also enhance their social and emotional skills.
My Project
Students will be using the Chromebook I am requesting each day for various activities. My students will have the opportunity to research information for science projects, practice multiplication and division facts in math, and practice their literacy skills with an online reading tool during language arts. The Chromebook and Google Chrome License will provide an endless learning experience for all involved.
Not only will students be able to access the curriculum through technology, they will also be learning lifelong skills such as communication, research, and the ability to type.
Students will create presentations that will be presented in front of their classmates and teachers. The daily use of Chromebooks in the classroom will help build a technological foundation that every child needs now and in the future.
