My Students
I teach in a title 1 school in West Harlem. I have a group of 25 lively, curious, inquisitive 1st graders. My students are enthusiastic about learning and filled with questions. It is a very diverse group. My students come from many different backgrounds and cultures.
My classroom is filled with exploration, curiosity and creativity.
As I move toward a more progressive, child centered classroom, I put my students' hunger for learning at the forefront. We use the world around us to discover new things including field trips and nature walks. We even have hydroponics in our classroom to help my students on their quest for knowledge.
My Project
Help give my students access to all aspects of their reading, writing and math programs! These Chromebooks would allow my students to build their math and literacy skills and increase their independence. In today's world, computer literacy is so important as well. I plan to use these laptops in small groups to allow my students to access online games and activities that help build these vital skills.
Every curriculum used in my classroom has a technical component that requires access to a computer, help give my students this access.
Multimodal forms of engagement help students learn and internalize information. These laptops provide access to online activities and games that align with learning goals. Please help make this dream a reality in my classroom.
