In each kit we placed cubes and counters, dice and a stop watch to assist students in in developing their thinking in a variety of science related experiences. \r\n\r\nDuring our Push and Pull Unit the kids timed the rate of a ball moving through a maze and then experimented with an incline from a ramp to see how it could move faster. They used the unifix cubes to measure the distance and then recorded their finding as scientists. These discoveries inspired others who became eager to participate. Soon after we created a center which became a choice during free play.\r\n\r\nThe accessibility of the STEM kits allowed for experimentation through play as the children designed new games built from their interests.
