My Students

I teach multiple subjects in a middle school special day class for grades 6-8. My students all have very different educational needs, and struggle accessing the curriculum in a typical classroom. They have a wide range of academic abilities that span multiple grade levels as well as varying communication and social skills. One thing they have in common is a love of technology.

My students are highly motivated by computer based learning and hands-on activities.

They also enjoy conducting science experiments, and participating in group activites. I am grateful to teach such an amazing group of students that work hard each day to make progress toward their learning goals.

My Project

We have a few Chromebooks and desktop computers in our classroom, but my students would benefit tremendously if they each had access at the same time. Two additional Chromebooks will make that happen. Since my students have such a wide range of abilities, the additional computers would enable them to work on curriculum specific to their individual needs while also using learning time efficiently.

The Chromebooks will be used for accessing online curriculum, research projects, writing activities, Google apps, and one of the students' favorite activities; earned free time.

I have seen students make incredible progress with the use of technology, and want to provide them with the materials they need to continue to succeed.
