My students need 3 Chromebooks to receive valuable practice for our new state standards.
This project expired on January 31, 2014.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Education and the way we look at its success is changing throughout the nation. California state standards will now be tested at our school using Chromebooks. Students need to be exposed to this technology and the many ways we can use it.
I teach at an Intermediate school in CA of 1150 7th and 8th graders.
They come from diverse ethnicity's and cultures. One of our main focuses at our school is to prevent any sort of bullying through class discussions and student made videos. Because of this effort, the overall campus feeling is very safe and accepting.
My students will be able to access the Internet using the Chromebooks.
Students can visit websites with practice software to re-enforce lessons learned in class. ALEKS.com offers practice problems in math for a number of content areas.
Students can research different facts when solving problems. For example: What are the mean, median, and mode temperatures in Kodiak, Alaska in December? Construct a box-and-whisker plot using those temperatures.
Students will be able to practice test taking strategies that will help them when taking state standardized tests.
I would like to offer my students the widest variety of ways to learn.
I believe a life long learner knows how to find answers and how to interpret the validity of those answers. Being exposed to the resources we can get from the Internet would vastly help achieve those goals.
