My Students

My students range from high needs to some low need special education students. I teach resource room Science and American Government to students at Independence High School. My class sizes range from 2 to 14. There are students at many different learning levels and requires a lot of differentiation to be done by myself and the paraprofessional in the class.

I am looking to obtain 5 Chromebooks to help my students achieve their goals set out in their Individual Education Plans.

The students could use them for many assignments and projects that would help them be successful in my classroom. There are many technological assistants offered on the Chromebook that will assist the students. Things such as text read aloud, spell checks and assistance with aligning math equations.

My Project

These Chromebooks will better help my students achieve there IEP goals by assisting in multiple educational areas. Allowing the students access to these resources will help them as individual students as well as helping them learn to collaborate with each other and do project base learning in a team setting. Technology is very valuable to all students especially the ones that have special needs. There are many benefits to assistive technology in helping my students reach educational goals. Being in a resource room the students do not have access to information and opportunities that other students and these Chromebooks would allow them those opportunities.
