My Students

What do you get when you put 25 students together in an environment that spurs creativity, values innovation, and appreciates risk-taking? Magic! My students are magic makers. They love learning and are willing to use perseverance to succeed.

My students are inquisitive learners who are full of wonder and questions.

These 5th graders believe that anything is possible. Regardless of their differences, they have a shared pride in their school and community. My students are diverse learners who are proud to be from a small, suburban farming community.

My Project

At our school, we are moving to a competency-based model. Students will have choice and voice as they collaborate with me, their teacher, to create individualized learning paths. One component of our personalized learning paths involves technology. Some of the programs that we use also seem to work better when they have a Chromebook rather than an App.

It is critical that students have access to technology in the classroom setting that they can use to collaborate with their peers.

I envision students creating Flipgrids to show their thinking and solutions with each other. Students will be able to use the keyboarding features to write, revise, and publish their essays and other media.
