Help me give my students Chromebooks so that they can access the online learning world.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Sheikh's classroom raised $347
This project is fully funded
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at a Title I school (low-income neighborhood) in New York City. Most students in my school receive free lunch and more than 30% are English Language Learners. They face many challenges, both emotionally and academically. But whatever challenges life throws at them, they love to learn. These students don't get many opportunities or have the resources to enhance their education at home. The classroom is the only avenue where they get a chance to feel safe to take academic risks.
My Project
I plan to create a technology center in my classroom where these Chromebooks will be used on a daily basis. With your help, I will be able to integrate technology into both my reading and math lessons. My students will be able to read books online and answer questions, show their writing in creative ways, create PowerPoint presentations, etc.
In math, my students can play competitive games and practice their math facts.
Students will be able to use these Chromebooks to work at their ability level and get personalized practice and skill development. With your help, I can incorporate the online programs that were purchased by my school along with countless other resources available online.
