I teach at a Title I school (low income neighborhood) in New York City . Most students in my school receive free lunch and more than 30% are English Language Learners. They face many challenges, both emotionally and academically. But what ever challenges life throws at them, they love to learn. These students don't get many opportunities or have the resources to enhance their education at home. The classroom is the only avenue where they get a chance to feel safe to take academic risks. Most of my students have limited access to technology and in this day and age, don't have computers at home. To equip them for the life ahead, it is extremely necessary for them to be exposed to computers and technology. Realizing these limitations in my students' lives, I aim at providing them with a range of learning opportunities by creating a technology center in my classroom.
