My Students

Students in our school are below grade level for reading. While we would qualify for Title I by state requirements, our district has too many schools with higher needs than ours, so we do not receive the additional funding. Our students want to become better readers, but we need ways to support their literacy growth.

The students in our school are half military.

The constant moving means that there will be gaps in their education that I will be trying to fill and there will be advanced students that need something extra. The rest of the students are from low socioeconomic status and face a variety of challenges of their own.

My Project

This year I have been focusing on becoming one to one for devices in my classroom. Students are doing project-based learning and to do the necessary research and to create their projects, each student needs to have access to a device. These projects include videos, Google Slides, poetry, narratives, and so much more.

With each project that is funded, we are closer to our goal.

As the year has progressed we have gained more students and our need for devices has grown. With two more Chromebooks, we will be that much closer to being able to meet the needs of more students.
