Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every day when the students walk into class, they begin with a bell ringer. This is the activity to get the students ready for what they are going to do in class. Having technology in front of them would really increase their motivation.

I teach 7th grade math at Mountain View Elementary.

Mountain View is located in a very low economic neighborhood. The school is title I and 100% free lunch and breakfast for all students. The demographics of the school is higher than 90% Hispanic. The majority the parents at home speak Spanish.

My Project

The students will be able to use the tablets to complete their math problems. Connected Math has a full curriculum for tablets. I strongly believe motivation will be increased in the classroom. In addition, there are many technology based tools that are math related that could be used with the tablets.

Using the tablets will increase students motivation and increase the amount of knowledge my students learn.

In addition, using technology will prepare them for the direction of how technology is being used in the future.
