My Students

I teach Math to a diverse group of 5th graders in rural Southeastern Oklahoma. My students have enthusiastic and inquisitive young minds that love to be challenged.

Unfortunately, with the effects of COVID-19, many of my students are not where they should be academically.

Quarantine and school closures have greatly affected their education. Living in a rural, low income community has hindered many of my students' ability to have adequate technology to reach their full potential academically.

My Project

The use of Chromebooks happens daily in my classroom. Our grade level is close to having 1 to 1 technology, but we are not there yet. The Chromebooks and OKIOCAM Webcam/Document Camera requested will help me to better equip my students for a successful learning experience in the event that they require learning from home. Not only will this provide two extra Chromebooks that they could "check out" should they not have the resources at home, but it will also help me to give direct, individualized instruction to avoid confusion and frustration for all of my students.
