This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up." -Vince Lombardi.

This school is a middle city school with students from many different economic and cultural backgrounds.

My students are asked to provide supplies that might be financially hard for them to get. Our school is a Title I school, and every donation goes a long way. Our students are driven to always do their best, but they struggle. They need financial and emotional support from their community to help them meet their true potential.

My Project

Have you ever had that one class that you just really struggled in. Even if you understood the concepts, even if the teacher did his or her best to make if fun and interesting, there was simply too much to learn and too little time. That is 6th grade math. Even as a teacher I feel for my students, they have to learn SO MUCH learn. They get stressed and often feel overwhelmed. I am asking for Chromebooks to sooth this stress in two ways.

At the end of the school year my students will be working on group projects that have to do with math.

Instead of taking notes and working on math problems they will be creating projects having to do with spending money and going on vacation. This is fun, but they need computers to help them with the research.

The other reason I am asking for Chromebooks is, my students use them during lunch to play games or catch up on reading. I have anywhere from 6 - 20 students in my room daily who would rather stay in a quiet classroom then go to the cafeteria. They need that time to relax. Please help my students!
