This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach sixth grade in Michigan. I have taught fifth grade the last two years here and am going to be looping with my wonderful, articulate, bright students. I am so excited about the year ahead that we have together. We had many ups and downs throughout the year but in the end we made it out stronger than before and closer than ever.

My students are amazing and courageous students with big hearts and curious minds.

I am very excited to start this year with these kids and have the chance to watch this class grow as they venture to middle school. I am so excited to build upon what we started this past year and continue to push them! My heart and mind are so full knowing that I have the opportunity to truly impact them on their educational journey.

My Project

I am asking for two more Chromebooks for my classroom to help get us closer to a one to one classroom. This is because as we near closer to our state testing time, I want to be able to provide my students with more opportunities to practice getting familiar with the use of a computer and the testing website. My students are also required to type a five paragraph paper and I would like them to be able to have as much practice with that as possible.

These Chromebooks can have a serious impact on my students lives as it allows them to be able to practice and feel as comfortable as they possibly can.

I only want the best for my students and I want them to have as much confidence when testing time comes. My students are bright and articulate with great futures ahead of them and I don't want missed opportunities, such as lack of Chromebooks and practice time to hold them back.

These Chromebooks can also allow my student opportunities to take their learning elsewhere and to extend their learning. We can do more practice with writing, as well as research based projects will be more available to them. The way of the future if technology, so why not give our future leaders every opportunity to soar and grow now.
