Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a wonderful group of learners who come from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds. While my students come from hard-working families, some of them are lacking the necessities to be successful in today's world. Many of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch, but all of them love to learn. My students are creative, independent thinkers who are maturing and gaining a much-needed strong foundation for middle school. My goal is for each student to improve as much as possible and build the most solid foundation possible for their future educations.
My Project
My students will use Chromebooks to become more proficient in several areas. Students will learn how to type and become proficient with a computer keyboard and shortcuts as these are skills they will take with them throughout the rest of their educations and careers. We will also use the Google Suite of apps including Google Classroom, Google Docs, and Google Slides to do numerous projects. One project is a slide presentation on the California Missions, which is part of our 4th-grade curriculum. Additionally, students will publish their writing, which is done during our daily writing workshop. Students can use the Chromebooks to type and print out their work. Finally, I would like to use the Chromebooks with small groups to assist students in various subject areas to conduct research and use various online programs, including our reading and math programs that each have online applications for students to utilize.
