Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from all over the district. We are a public school, where parents put their child on the waitlist at 4 years old to go through the school's lottery. We are a school of choice. We are a high performing school, where parent participation is strongly encouraged. Parent support is key to my students' success. We do not receive federal funding. We have to fundraise for anything extra. Common Core Standards are implemented daily, with lack of materials. It would be great to get more materials.
My Project
Our world is always changing and we need to keep students "up with the times". Technology is ever-evolving and we need to make sure that all students have the same opportunity and access in the classroom to gain important life skills with this technology.
With your help, Chromebooks will help our students gain access to move them forward in our technology world.
With your help in getting new Chromebooks, students will be able to work in groups to access Google classroom to do class projects in language arts, science, and math. Students will also be able to improve on typing skills.
My 3rd graders will be taking the state test this year. The state test in California is digital. My students need all the practice they can get in order to feel confident keyboarding using a Chromebook.
