My fourth grade students are blossoming into prolific writers! At the beginning of the year some of them struggled to write more than a page, but now at the end of fourth grade they are excited to write long stories! Specifically, they are currently working on the historical fiction journals that take place in colonial New Amsterdam. As they work, many of them have to stop and troubleshoot with a teacher because the Chromebook they are using isn't working.
In our classroom, we have a mix of Chromebooks from the DOE and Chromebooks that former teachers purchased more than five years ago.
The older Chromebooks are mostly not working anymore! We need new Chromebooks so that all of our students and future fourth graders can freely express their creativity without technology problems getting in the way.
Although we have around ten older Chromebooks, we're hoping to replace four of them for now. We'll continue trying to replace more of them next year!
