Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
These learners are first class. I have the privilege of being their pilot. This class defines a diverse classroom. We have all walks of life along for the journey. I would say we have the perfect mix of salty and sweet. We take the good with the bad and the bad with the good. We've discovered that our teacher is a real person, I was them once too. They have embraced that they are at school to learn with and most importantly, FROM each other. The majority of learners qualify for free and reduced-price lunch. Yep, that's the delicate way of saying they come from families of hard working parents who are doing their best to make ends meet. Regardless of their life at home it is my vision that they want to step into our classroom because it's a place they love.
I am always searching for the best tools to make our classroom less sterile and more exciting!
I want these learners to experience many modes of learning that goes with my teaching. Essentially, it is my goal to introduce these learners to the BEST! Always.
My Project
Learners in my first grade classroom use computers on a daily basis. I would like each student to touch a laptop every single day. These Chromebooks will help each student get the computer access that they need.
Technology will be used in my classroom for project based learning, research, Lexia, and ST Math.
The computers will allow each student to reach beyond the classroom and learn what is outside of the school gates through research. The computers will allow each child to get the adequate amount of time on our enrichment programs Lexia and ST Math.
It is my wish that I don't have to tell them to wait for tomorrow or that they might get a turn tomorrow. I want them to be able to use a computer when they have the need for it.
