My awesome 23 third grade students are technology enthusiasts. Attending a Distinguished and Gold Ribbon School, these eight and nine-year-olds are growing up with technology as a learning tool. They are avid readers, mathematicians, exceptional writers, and curious scientists.
My students' learning revolves around technology and is enhanced by it!
We visit the computer lab once a week and have access to a Chromebook cart with a class set of Chromebooks. This cart is shared amongst five third grade classes.
With access to Chromebooks in my classroom at all points of the day, students will be able to have resources to assist them in most subject areas. They will have easy access to the internet for research, typing practice, as well as other educational web-based programs. They will continue to practice and grow their technology skills and work with Google Docs, Google Draw, and Google Presentations. In addition, they will practice the skills needed to take the computer-based state tests. Some of the skills required of these youngsters will be to manipulate tabs, highlight, underline, drag, and click. The technology will give my students meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.
