This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a lovely group of third and fourth graders. We are a Dual Language Class, which means that students are learning at least one language- we alternate between instruction in Spanish and English every other day. Many of my students are reading significantly below grade level and are in need of extra support with reading.

My students are very interested in technology, and there are now many programs available to support their learning, but most of them do not have access to computers outside of school.

My Project

With these Chromebooks, my amazing Third and Fourth Graders will be able to access educational programs to support their literacy and math skills.

With the help of technology, more of my students will be able to get the individualized support that they need to develop into strong readers and mathematicians.

My students will be so excited to have the opportunity to learn at their own pace, using the programs we have available, which they currently are not able to access computers. Not only will these Chromebooks support their reading and math skills, but they will also be getting comfortable using technology, which will be necessary for them no matter what field they go into after finishing school.
