This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In our classroom we believe in learning the most we can in various situations to become active and responsible students and eventually successful adult citizens in society. We strive every day to do our very best and break all stereotypes that are associated with us.
I truly believe that they can and will succeed despite what society, prejudice, or others might think about them.
I hope to affirm their strengths and give them the space to discover that they are capable of achieving their goals and meeting high expectations. My hope is to build a positive classroom culture where students strive for excellence every day, that take pride in their work, and that always have a "champion" mentality. I know for a fact that my students will become critical thinkers, strong leaders, and positive members of their local and global communities.
My Project
It's the end of week one back to school and I have learned that 15 out of the 60 students that I teach do not have access to a digital device at home. This causes huge barriers for my students as they try to connect with their classmates and I online. These students have already lost a week of learning and will start to fall behind if we are not able to provide them with the proper resources to learn. With these Chromebooks, students will have access to their online virtual classrooms and will be able to keep up with their peers and be successful students!
