As a teacher in a school district with a variety of students, my students are faced with regular challenges on a daily basis. Despite these many obstacles,they bring innovation and a drive to learn!
The real everyday struggles that my students face are their magnified by their limited access to resources.
Their drive to learn new things is astounding. Even my most challenging students become engaged in our Project Based Learning efforts throughout the year, and crave to explore the unknown.
My Project
My students need access to technology on a daily basis. Our school cannot provide our students with a one to one device opportunity. As a result these children are automatically set at a disadvantage.
My students need access to these resources to make them competitive in this modern world and in their future careers!
Many of my students have limited proficiency with using technology for finding reliable resources, use of online cloud storage programs such as Google classroom, and learning to be responsible digital citizen.
Students having access to these devices will open doors to our inquiry based instruction. Having daily access to an electronic tool will allow for deeper exploration with the limited time students have in out testing driven society. Digital access will allow them to find out details and facts that normally take days to discover through exhausting library explorations.
I love that students can receive immediate feedback and data on their work to allow for students to review and correct misunderstandings with ease. Work having digital devices on a one to one basis is exciting to begin the journey of working towards a one to one device classroom!
