This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My chemistry students are curious and interested in our world. They are an incredibly diverse group from around the world. Many speak other languages, yet all come together to learn. Regardless of their culture, all families want their children to learn everything they can and prepare for a successful future.
Like most students today, they infuse technology into all of their activities.
Having access every day helps them learn about chemistry. Sciences classes are great for allowing all students to integrate technology into learning concepts.
My Project
My classes use Chromebooks several times a week. Students use them to write papers, presentations, take quizzes, access online simulations, and play educational review games like Kahoot. However, our school is very large and the carts are shared between many classes.
Daily access to Chromebooks would allow my students to integrate technology as needed, not just when the class has the cart.
Having an additional Chromebook, with Google Management License, every single day would allow students to have even more differentiated learning opportunities. Chemistry online resources have a wealth of probelems and simulations that can help students explore and understand complex concepts. Access to the internet is essential for students.
