My Students
I teach 6th graders in a middle school setting. My students love to work collaboratively with partners and in groups! They are highly motivated by input from their classmates; they like to share their ideas and see what other students are working on.
Most of all, my students love to use technology to share with each other and to present ideas!
They often collaborate digitally in Google Classroom, on documents, and on video projects. Documenting their work with photos and video allows students to communicate their ideas in ways that their audience can readily understand.
My Project
We frequently use technology in our classroom. Students complete warm ups every day that are accessed through Google Classroom postings, students have access to classwork and homework through devices, and students complete a variety of long term projects using technology. Some of this work is designed to be collaborative, and some is independent. We sometimes have difficulty with independent work that requires technology because we are not one-to-one with our devices.
Four more chromebooks would put us much closer to being one-to-one in our classroom.
This will make a huge difference in how much work we are able to accomplish.
