I have the privilege of spending each day with an amazing group of third graders! They are excited to learn! As 21st century learners, they need to incorporate technology into their daily school activities.
We have Internet based resources available to us to access knowledge beyond our classroom and school walls, but we share a class set of computers with six other classes.
With limited time assigned to us in the computer lab, my students do not have the resources to reach their full potential. They need Chromebooks to easily and quickly access the Internet so they can research subjects, access learning tools, and collaborate to create and share projects. They need to become technologically proficient, and in order to do that they need to have access to technology in our classroom. My students are creative and full of ideas that they want to use in classroom based projects.
My Project
Chromebooks will enable my students to quickly access online resources from within our classroom. In addition, Chromebooks will enable my students to consistently be able to access tools that we use in our curriculum including, but not limited to, i-Ready lessons, IXL lessons, Accelerated Reading, Freckle, Typing Agent, and Google Apps. We will also be able to use the Chromebooks for Writer's Workshop.
Chromebooks will allow us to be able to connect, collaborate, communicate, research, think critically, create, share, and learn!
Having Chromebooks dedicated to use in our classroom will provide us with access to the Internet whenever we need it. My students will be able to research and work on collaborative projects. Also, they will be able to work on areas of challenge in the curriculum through Internet based resources.
