My students need these Chromebooks to support them with various online Math resources. A number of our students do not have Internet access at home to fully access the resources available online for Math.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I work at a Chicago public neighborhood school with sixth, seventh and eighth grade students of various ability levels. All of my students are diverse learners that have Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
My students are , multi-sensory learners.
My current classroom is in a kindergarten through eighth grade school building; however, most of these students are in this separate classroom, my classroom, for at least 60% of the school day.
I work at an outstanding school and with hard working and collaborative teachers and staff members. We share a great deal of our resources whenever possible. Thank you for looking at my page.
My Project
These Chromebooks and cases for them will not only support my students with completing various Math tasks online, but also will support students with increasing their technology savviness, which is an absolute necessary skill to have in today's world.
The earlier students have access to this type technology and are instructed on how to appropriately utilize these tools, they will be further prepared for secondary and post-secondary school settings, as well as their future careers!
A number of my students are attempting to access these online resources at home with their cell phones, which is a valiant effort on their part, but also led to to writing of this proposal, as well as after school math intervention sessions. Please consider helping me to even the playing field a little bit, by donating to this worthwhile project for Chromebooks to support teachers like me with closing the educational learning gaps of our future leaders of tomorrow!
