Chromebooks Can Help With Our Reading Success!

My students need 5 Chromebooks so they can work at their level on a computer reading program while I am working with a guided reading group.

My Students

I work in a school district that is low income/high poverty. My students are working well below grade level and need extra support to help them accelerate their learning.

They are very eager to learn but just lack the extra support they need to help them reach their full potential.

Several of my students have never been read to at home or even been taught how to hold a book. We have to start with the very basic book handling skills before we even begin to teach them how to read. Once we have achieved this, they are so eager to learn to read on their own.

My Project

Having five Chromebooks will allow my students to work at their individual level while I am working with a small Guided Reading group. The Chromebooks will allow my students to be engaged with individualized learning that will help them excel.

Putting technology into a student's hand that is below level can help build their confidence and make them excited about learning.

A lot of my students do not have access to this type of technology at home for them to use. Hopefully having access to these resources will excite them about their own learning. Thank you for considering our project!
