This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing! Most of them have been at the school since kindergarten, and our school is special because we can really develop a close relationship with each individual student as they grow up.

As a school with a bilingual program, students are immersed in rigorous instruction in both English AND Spanish!

There are numerous benefits to being bilingual and students work very hard to access the curriculum despite it being a challenge. We have both Spanish-dominant and English-dominant speakers, which means that 100% of our students are second language learners!

My Project

We are so close to having a class set of Chromebooks that will be used for this year and many years to come! Chromebooks have been such a great and low-cost way to introduce technology in the classroom. We are so fortunate to have so many educational resources available to us through the internet that it would be a shame not to take more advantage of them!

We often use Chromebooks for math and literacy centers to visit various websites that will promote their thinking and monitor progress!

This helps our students take ownership of their learning. Also, they get so excited to use technology in the classroom and Chromebooks keep them engaged in the classroom and lessons that we use.
