Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are from a diverse and high poverty population. They are hardworking and enthusiastic about learning. Every day, they come to school despite hardships and engage in rigorous instruction. Our students take pride in our school. We are their extended family, and they count on us to educate and guide them every day. We have a large group of immigrant students. They are in our classrooms with little or no English skills. Despite their struggles, we perform at a high level.
My Project
Chromebooks will be a perfect classroom accessory for our students to use in their everyday lessons to enrich learning. Chromebooks will help enhance learning opportunities for 21st-century skills. Some of the skills we will be working on is creating power points, having access to google classroom, learning videos, typing skills, computer literacy, testing, researching, practice math skills, creating documents and much more. These skills are connected to the common core which involves research, collaboration, and typing skills. I'm also asking for an I-Pad cover for my an I-Pad. This cover will protect the I-Pad and extend the life of this amazing technology tool my students and I use every day. Some of the student's relay of technology to help build their language skills.
Having this opportunity will bring excitement to learning and a resource for students and teachers.
At our school, we have limited access to technology. Our students do not have these tools at home. By using Chromebook, our students will be learning to use a proper keyboard skill, web browser and navigate a mouse. These skills are underdeveloped by schools and I'm hoping to increase these skills for my students.
I am most excited about engaging all my students by having access to the Chromebooks. It will create an environment of computer literate students as well implement 21st-century skills.
