This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are in a 3,4,5th grade self-contained special education class. The class has 12 students and allows me to have more on one-on-one time to meet their specific needs. We are located in Washington Heights where most of my students receive free or reduced lunch.
We have been working on adding more technology to our classroom.
We currently have 5 Chromebooks but the goal is to have one for each student. The Chromebooks are small and allow us to access information to help with our curriculum. They also are a benefit for helping us with typing up our assignments.
My Project
The students will use these materials daily. They will be able to access more of the curriculum online as well as be able to type up assignments. We would be able to do more differentiated assignments where they could access online. They will also be able to have their own Google accounts and learn how to use Google Drive.
These two Chromebooks would have a great impact on our classroom.
Having more technology will allow us to be more tech savvy and prepare us for the future. Having technology makes class more exciting and allows us to be able to access a lot more resources!
