My students need Chromebooks to gain invaluable computer skills with access to technology, making their learning process engaging and rigorous in our classroom.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are eager to learn, create, and move. We are a pre-K through fifth grade school, with just over 600 students. There are a large number of our students who receive free or reduced-price lunch. All of our students, this year, qualify for a free breakfast program! Even though we are located in a low socioeconomic area, it is clear that parents want the best for their children. My students face many daily challenges, and often do not get the needed Technology skills.
My Project
All my students love technology! They are in need of Chromebooks that we can use in our classroom. We currently only have 4 computers to share with all students in our classroom. My students will use these Chromebooks to build their Math, STEM projects, robotics, spelling, social studies, science and Reading skills.
They will also use Chromebooks with certain Math and Reading programs that have been provided and purchased by our district.
Your generous donation of Chromebooks to our project will improve our second grade Reading skills, Math computation, and other subjects area skills. Technology is a big part of the world we live in and to reach our twenty-first century learners we need to update the resources that we have in the classroom. I know that they will love learning in a different way besides the typical textbook.
