My Students
Being a public school teacher in NYC, in a Title I school is a challenge itself. Remote learning for my students entails accessing our Google Classroom, but a lack of technology really does hurt our students.
Not only am I concerned about students continuing to learn, but we need to focus on their emotional and mental growth during these difficult times.
How does it make a child feel being stuck at home for this long, but also not having the basic school supplies? My hope is to help make their transition to remote learning as easy as possible and support them in any way that I can.
My Project
When I hear that students are having a hard time transition to remote learning it saddens me, but then hearing that a student has to deal with losing a parent to the pandemic breaks my heart. It's hard enough to deal with the loss of a parent so I want nothing more than to help the students in any way that I can.
A laptop is more than just a device, it is something that will help provide this particular student with an opportunity to learn.
Looking into the future, I want to make sure this student has access to a device for remote learning and throughout his educational career.
