My Students
My classroom setting is a wonderfully diverse community where students from a variety of backgrounds and experiences come together to achieve academic success. Located in north Orange County, my school site has a significant number of socioeconomically disadvantaged students. Many of these students do not have access to relevant forms of technology at home, so they rely solely on their experiences at school to develop digital literacy. My students love the opportunity to learn about and use new technology to help them reach their academic potential.
My Project
The chromebook will be used primarily for supporting students in their Social Science classes. This chromebook will help students produce high quality research and inquiry based projects, and give the students a forum to create innovate presentations that demonstrate their learning and inspire others. By completing these digital projects and working with this type of technology daily, students will be developing the digital tools necessary for 21st century careers.
The chromebook will also be used daily to support English Language Learners by providing them with a translator for in class use, in class digital access to our class webpage to help with note taking, and other online resources to support their language development.
