This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My classroom is filled with students of low socioeconomic status who face many challenges inside and outside of the classroom. My students come in with smiles on their faces ready to give 100% effort in all that they do.
My school is located in Metro Atlanta and 100% of my students receive free breakfast and lunch.
This means that all my students live in poverty. Many of my students come from single parent homes and minimal parent involvement. It is my hope that with the help of DonorsChoose, I can make a difference in the lives of my students with items so readily available to others.
My Project
Students in my room use a computer everyday but they have to wait their turn until one of the computers is free. We could achieve so much more if we had more computers. We would be able to have half our class on a computer at the same time!
We use computers for practicing skills, but we need one more to allow for shared research in groups.
We also use the computers to watch videos and complete projects for science, social studies and math. If we had more computers we could complete many more projects as a class and have fun competitions on
