My Students

I call my students my children, because I want them to know that I want the best for them, just like their parents. Sixth grade is such a big year for them. They are so excited to come into middle school, where they get to change classes and have lockers. When they come to school, they are excited to learn.

My students' curiosity is what makes them special.

Coming into middle school is an exciting time, but they are still learning how to explore all of the questions that they have.

My Project

My students have learning disabilities. They may be severely dyslexic, which causes significant problems in reading and math, or they may have emotional disabilities that affect their learning. Having to see their peers not struggle in the classroom is hard for my students, because they come to school every day knowing that school is hard for them. I want to be able to put Chromebooks in my classroom so that students can use them to help them learn.

I want my students to know that just because they learn differently does not make them any different.

Students will be using Chromebooks to create presentations that showcase their learning of a particular unit or school from the general education classroom. Writing is hard for most of my students, so having a Chromebook that they can speak-to-text into will make them feel successful in their learning.
