My Students
My 5th-grade students attend a public school in New York and are in an ICT classroom. All of my students are eager to learn! However, some of my students have special needs and need a lot of support to achieve their learning goals. They are eager to learn and are all capable of learning. I hope to motivate my students to be excited about learning and surround them with a supportive, engaging, and safe learning environment.
Our vision is to create a classroom that fosters independence, growth, and engagement!
My Project
My special education students feel empowered when they use technology in our classroom. My students know how to use Google Classroom, QR codes, create interactive polls, research, and are just starting to learn how to create multimedia presentations and podcasts.
However, we are unable to use any of these amazing resources, because we have extremely limited technology in our classroom!
Chromebooks in the classroom can be extremely beneficial to diverse learners. One of the many goals of technology in the classroom is to provide students with a fun and exciting learning environment. The use of technology not only prepares our students for the real world, but also helps to gain the students' interest in the subject while promoting learning.
In today's world, technology is all around us. Some of my students do not have the opportunity to use technology in their everyday lives. Our school lacks the technology my students need to succeed! My students will use the requested Chromebook to enhance their reading fluency, writing responses, comprehension, speaking skills, as well as, their math skills. In addition, we will work on coding. They will be able to engage in differentiated activities to support their individual learning. The Chromebook will provide educational activities for students of varying abilities. The opportunities to support their education are endless with a number of educational apps and websites. There are numerous educational tools that technology provides.
