I teach 6th grade in a small town, where our school is the focus of our incredible community! Our students work extremely hard, love learning, and enjoy being creative.
My students love learning--especially when technology is involved.
Their eyes light up and smiles brighten their faces. I get excited when introducing new educational apps or games because I can anticipate the excitement that's going to fill the room. Our school works hard to prepare and teach the skills and thinking required for this century learner. Technology is certainly an enormous part of the skills required for success.
Chromebooks are a must in our reading room. We use them on a daily basis for looking up vocabulary words, playing games, completing projects/choice boards, and more.
Providing our students with hands-on access to technology is invaluable to student success.
Each year my students complete a Passion Project where they delve into a topic or activity that greatly interests them. This computer would allow them to research, create Google Slides, Google Docs or any other format they are going to use to share their expert knowledge with the class. As they are learning and researching, they are also building 21st-century technology skills and so much more.
