We are a very small, low-income town in rural Missouri with the diversity of a major city. We have students from all walks of life and are as racially diverse as any school could hope to be. Unfortunately, most of our students come from very low-income homes and consistently face the situation where resources, both at home and at school, are limited. We are constantly looking for ways to assure students that, regardless of their current situations, they can always work to improve their future. Teaching them to be proud of what they have or where they come from can be difficult when they have so little. Your help can help them see that there is always a way to make things better.
My students will use two new Lenovo laptops every single day! At our school, our students use a variety of blending learning programs to enhance their learning. Students will use the laptops for a variety of online programs and for project based learning. My students are also learning the basic skills of typing, Power Point, and how to navigate through a computer.
My students are always so excited to take advantage of their computer time, with two additional computers added to our classroom computer lab, one less student will have to wait for their turn to use the computers.
We are also learning how to take online assessments, explore Google Docs, and how to successfully research educational topics! These Chromebooks will be loved and well taken care of!
