it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Welcome to Ms. McLendon’s class! I teach at an amazing Title 1 school in Phoenix, Arizona. I am so lucky to have an amazing, smart, energetic group of second graders. My students are eager to come to school to learn new things. We take pride in all of our hard work and we have fun while doing it!

We have received many awards on both a state and national level. My students come from many different backgrounds. Our classroom is a place where students can come and can forget about all of their differences and we become a family. Our classroom is a safe place where students are open to learning, trying new things, and working hard to achieve their goals. We do a lot of hands on, engaging, cooperative learning activities. Every day is a new adventure with Ms. McLendon’s Monsters and I love watching them grow while we laugh, learn, and have fun together!
My Project
This year I was lucky enough to have 1:1 technology in my classroom. Due to funding, we are getting half of those Chromebooks taken away. I was able to see all the benefits and effects that a 1:1 classroom does for kids.
It is amazing to see that even 7 year olds can quickly learn all the fundamentals of using technology and how to become experts at navigating Chromebooks.
Having this technology in my classroom allowed us to review skills using fun games online, complete assessments digitally, research topics more in depth, and expand our math knowledge by playing fun games. Chromebooks will make a difference in my students' learning because there are endless opportunities they can use with these computers.
