My Students

We are a K-5th grade school with over 700 students, including a large population of students working hard to become proficient in English. Our students come from all different religious and cultural backgrounds, along with socioeconomic backgrounds. Our school is privileged to serve military families and children of Barksdale Air Force Military Base. Our school is rated an A school by the state of Louisiana. If our students are to be competitive in today's world they need to become proficient in computer use.

I have a class of twenty-seven enthusiastic second graders who love to learn.

Each student helps diversify our population, bringing in knowledge and experience of various cultures and traditions. My students differ greatly socially, academically, emotionally, and economically, and I strive daily to meet each of these differences. This project will help improve my students education progress. Many of my students do not have access to these resources. My students will work individually as well as in small groups.

The use of Chromebooks is a daily activity in my classroom, especially in math. Our school has adopted a new math program that requires the of technology daily.

My Project

Technology in the classroom is no longer a want, it's a necessity! With the rapidly changing, fast paced world we live in, curriculum in the classroom is constantly changing and evolving every day to include new learning programs that are fun and engaging for our students! This means we must adapt to these changes, including upgrading and integrating technology the students have access to in the classroom.

We need 2 Chromebooks to effectively provide each student with an opportunity to learn through researching topics, accessing learning programs, and engaging in small group and individual tasks through Google.

With the use of Chromebooks, my students will have many experiences learning new skills in fun and engaging lessons.
